Wizard Of Oz Festival In 2020 Less Than 2 Hours From Kalamazoo The Wizard of Oz is possibly the greatest and most iconic movie of all-time. But the book by Frank L. Baum is what inspired it all. The town of Chesterton, Indiana will be hosting Wizard of Oz Days, May 22nd & 23rd in 2020 and is a must go for any true fan of the book/movie. The drive is only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Kalamazoo, and promises to be an event like none other at the Duneland Falls Banquet & Event Center, 1100 North Max Mochal Highway (SR 149) in Chesterton, IN.

Holland Oz brick campaign extended through end of 2019 Fans of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” still have the chance to purchase a brick that will be placed at the Holland sculpture portrayal of characters from the literary classic. Personalized engraved bricks can be bought for $100 for placement on the yellow brick road in Centennial Park in front of the seasonal Oz book sculpture made of plants. Bricks can also be purchased for $200 that will be installed in the yellow brick road outside of the Herrick District Library near an Oz sculpture of the donor’s choosing. The brick campaign is in collaboration with the city of Holland and will run through Dec. 31.

Archive and meet the guardians of ‘Oz’ MPI colorist Janet Wilson is responsible for the dazzling 4K Ultra HD version that is now available to own and she is no stranger to the land of Oz. For the last 20 years, she has overseen every remaster and is confident that this latest version is far and away the best The Wizard of Oz has ever looked. Working from an 8K 16bit scan of the original negative, she goes through the movie shot by shot, tweaking the look of every frame. In front of her work station are two regular television monitors with, on either side, a pair of additional displays that are designed to offer incredibly precise color.
