The exhibition in the Focus Gallery consists of photographs of people and places around Macatawa Park from the time that author of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” L. Frank Baum, was summering in the popular resort area. “The response to the exhibition has been very positive — with attendance from our local area, the Lakeshore and from Grand Rapids — doubling our attendance from last year,” said Chris Shires, executive director of the Holland Museum. “The exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for young people and their families to explore the story and positive messages of ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.’ We have also found that the exhibition serves as a great entry point for young people to experience the Holland Museum for the first time. We are looking forward to offering more family experiences and programs in the future.”
