100 Oscar Statuettes From 75 Years Exhibited At AcademyOscars to celebrate ‘Wizard of Oz’ Dorothy, Toto and Kansas will get their moment in the spotlight at this year’s Academy Awards. The telecast, March 2 on ABC, will salute the 75th anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz.” The Oscars will have a hero-heroine theme this year, and Dorothy (played by Judy Garland) remains one of the best-loved characters in movie history. In a statement, Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said: “We are delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of the most beloved movies of all time at this year’s Oscars.”
