Daily Ozmapolitan Event Alert: 33rd Oz-Stravaganza!

Special guests appearing at this year’s Oz-Stravaganza include Munchkin Margaret Pellegrini; Munchkin Karl Slover; Emmy Award winner and Oz author and historian John Fricke; L. Frank Baum’s great grandsons, Bob and Roger Baum; Judy Garland’s 1939 movie stand-in Caren Marsh-Doll; Judy Garland dress collector, Michael Siewert; and Marvel Comics Oz author, Eric Shanower.

Now is the time to start working on Oz costumes for the Oz costume judging for children from infant through age 12. All Oz movie and book characters will be judged. Children in costume are encouraged to march in the Oz parade Saturday June 4th at 2:00 PM in downtown Chittenango. The Oz-Stravaganza! park is rapidly filling with crafters and vendors for the 33rd annual Oz-Stravaganza! weekend June 3rd – 5th in Chittenango, held to honor Chittenango native L. Frank Baum, author of the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz”. Park applications are available for download from the official website at http://www.oz-stravaganza.com or by contacting Lynne Bunce at 315-530-3319 or shedlady@twcny.rr.com. Prior participation is not a guarantee of a site in the park. Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Registration is also underway for the Munchkin Mile Kids Fun Run being held June 4th at 11:00 AM for children up to age 12. The first 100 registrants will receive a specially designed Fun Run tee shirt. Applications and details are available on the website.

A wide variety of contests are offered throughout Oz-Stravaganza! with some currently underway. Oz coloring contest forms are available for download at http://www.oz-stravaganza.com.
